About Salty Rita's:
The first thing I said when someone I know moved into a new home in Lowry was, "Dude, what the hell is wrong with you?" But then I visited, and before I could throw the smack down about "you need to drive 15 minutes to party," he promptly tilted my skull in the direction of Salty Rita's. Another of the Little Pub "Cantina" style joints, I can only imagine how many Dockers-wearing, Volvo-driving, New Urbanism souls this place has saved. Literally.
Walk through the door, sit right down, and without even glancing at the menu show your former downtown-dweller coolness and order "Sloppy Burrito, House Margarita rocks - no salt." The patio is massive - like 20 tables massive - so enjoy a nice afternoon out there when your wife thinks you are playing golf with some corporate mook...until she notices your car is still in the driveway and the cruiser bike has gone missing. Just have the good sense when she texts for your whereabouts to 'fess up and invite her to join you. She can even throw some sunscreen in the basket of her Schwinn. It will be like playing hooky Ferris Bueller style...until Principal Rooney reminds you that school is out at 3:30 and playtime is over.
And speaking of the family you momentarily forgot you had, feel free to bring the kiddos. With a great fountain to run through just off the patio, you can watch Junior soak his Pull-Ups while relaxing with a cocktail and your neighbors. It's like hanging out in your own backyard, but with someone to wait on you who won't resent it like your spouse might.
Curious fact: The giant Margarita glass over the front door was made to scale, and would hold 300 margaritas. For some reason that just made me think of the Anne-Margaret baked beans scene from the movie "Tommy" - although I'm not really sure why I just told you that.
